Different counties different cultures different customs. There are many countries (especially warm ones) where eating insects is not only normal, but certain insect are considered delicacies. Really it's not all taht strange or surprising.

I mean, you wouldn't consider cow shit to be perfume either, but there are tribes in africa that annoint themselves with cow dung to appear more appealing to potential mates. It's all about perspective, I guess.
