you mean like aggregators where you have a thin client that connects to an aggregate host that actually has the physical connections? Or ???

In a way VNC falls into that category, without the pain and expense of hardware. Same with terminal server(ices).

its basically a front end to your systems... when you have a bunch of machines on a shared network vnc is kind of a pain in the ass... setting up port forwarding, firewall rules, etc... and then you have to depend on software to do its job properly

but im open to other suggestions
