Where the Head-Bangers at??? Megadeth, Metalica, etc...

I need to pick up some more heavy shit for the gym... I really get down on Megadeath but only have random shit that i downloaded years ago. I know they must have a bunch of records, so what albums are worth buying? Also, if anyone can recommend other fast/crunch/metal I'd be interested in hearing it. I already have a bunch of metalica and white zombie just so you know.

So what's everyone rockin out to? ...and please don't tell me "Lincoln Park" etc... I want FAST/HARD/METAL.... not whiney bullshit.

Cool... I'll check those out. I love tool, and if the others are similar I'm sure they should do the trick too.

cool, another vote for Sepultura... i'll defiantly give them a listen.

So "Rust in Peace" is a good one... do they have any other titles worth picking up? I'm really digging the megadeth.

Oh that will make the hair stand up. Might make you run out and kill like 60 chickens too but you got to take the good with the bad.

Ummm Metal let's see
poison, faster pussycat, Cinderella

Just Kidding. The best Metal band is Pantera "vulgar display of power" Slayer "Reign in Blood" The best Megadeth Albums are
"peace sells but who's buying" and "Rust in Peace". The Best Metallica Albums are Kill em All Ride the Lightening and Master of Puppets and of course the God of Fuck Mr Evil MARILYN MANSON

I learned to headbang to Megadeth's "Peace Sells....But who's buying"......I love that album & saw them in '93 with their "Countdown to Exitinction" tour w/STP opening up for them.....I headbanged for 4 hrs straight! Great show!

Those are the albums I recomend.

since i prefer rnb I don't know "head-banger" bands, but I have to say that "system of a down" makes good music.

lot of good suggestions here ...

pantera - cowboys from hell is a bit glam, but from vulgar to reinventing the steel - all good shit, esPEcially reinventing the steel -

anselmo's new band is not shabby either - superjoint ritual

tool is awesome, perfect circle is good also - from maynard and ex members of failure.

system of a down kicks ass - dammit im just repeating what everyone else said.

you mofo's have good taste

ok, im off to see Ziggy Stardust in miami

Cradle of Filth is from London. They are a cross of hardcore speed slayer type of music and industrial goth. I've been listening to them for a couple of years now. They are very similar to scandinavian hardcore metal. A little screaming, a little growling.

If you want the heaviest, pumpingest shit you'll ever hear go for the Berzerker, shit, I believe their drummer at one point held the world record for fastest drummer.

Fucking incredible blastbeats....

CRUNCH? Oooh yeah

Great aggressive crunchy music to workout to:
Slayer -- "Reign In Blood" and/or "God Hates Us all'
Testament -- "Low"
Megadeth -- "Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?"
Anthrax -- "Among The Living"
Exodus -- "Toxic Waltz"
Metallica -- "Master Of Puppets"
The Meatmen -- "We're The Meatmen...and You Suck!"

GG Allin & The Murder Junkies.
Misfits
Suicidal Tendencies (old school)

For something a little less disorderly, Tool is a good choice - "Prison Sex".

wow, that's crazy shit... just checked out a sample on their website. those are the beats i'm looking for, but i really dislike the growling crap.

i think i'm going to go with some megadeath, pantera, system of a down, and cradle of filth.

anyone have a mp3 of Sepultura? they don't have any samples on their site.

Arise is Sepultura's best CD (check out the songs Dead Embryonic Cells or Arise if you want to get an idea of their sound).

Peace Sells... through Countdown to Extinction is great for Megadeth (most notably Rust in Peace), after that it gets a little bit iffy as they basically sold out after Countdown.

If you don't like the guttural vocals, try that Overkill album since "Blitz" Ellsworth can actually sing. Also, Burton C. Bell from Fear Factory sings half the time in a death metal growl and half the time in a sort of monk-like Gregorian chant. It's pretty cool. Definitely go with Demanufacture for them---best album they have.

Slayer is cool as well although their later stuff has become tiresome. I'd try Seasons in the Abyss or South of Heaven. More mature song-writing than Reign in Blood which is more of a seminal album than a particularly good one.

Stay away from Slipknot and that other nu-metal crap.
