How can they afford to pay $40 and even $80 on a free signup? Even if they are cc-approved it means 1 out of 10 members has to spend $400-800 just to satisfy the affiliate payment... How do they get that out of their customers?

Wonder if they require a certain productivity of the traffic in terms of a minimum conversion free signup -> paying member?
