i'm just thinking your system either for counting uniques may be a little skewed or your system for counting total hits is actually counting image loads - an AVERAGE of 50 page views for surfer is enormous and unheard of- but if every image on the page is counted as a page load then a page with 20 images loaded 3 times would look like 50.


i have stats like that on my servers -it's counting every image a gallery loads as a page load cause a gallery has over 20 images on it. makes for enormous numbers but you need to find a stat that says html page loads for a more accurate number of real total hits.

How you can compare sex.com's Alexa rating to Stern's is beyond me . . . however, while you keep saying Stern's Alexa rating is 17k, I see at at about half of that (8,675), and rising. It is readily apparent that their traffic has started screaming over the last couple of months.

That PR6 with 928 back links is pretty impressive too. I'd like to get a piece of his traffic for sure. :thumbsup

there's no need to take it from 600 to 500. a 600 k site will have VARIENCE. one day it'll show 650K - the next week 550K. winter higher than summer -and the like.
