I'm not involved in this (thank god), but you do realize that if you post the recording publicly, and he does not dispute it's authenticity publicly, he'd be a fool to alter it later. Probably more than 20 people would have a copy of the original you played here sitting on their hard drives within minutes.

It wouldn't be extremely difficult to prove yours was the original if he tried to alter it.
