Don't. I have no experience with it other than shells and installing scripts on servers and whatnot and I got it running just fine. SUSE 9.1 installs easily. All I had to do was set up a partition and it's all good. It even reads the files in my hahahahahahas partition so don't worry about losing mp3s, old projects, etc. Do it, spyware and shit sucks. A few hours and I already can't think of a reason to boot back into XP other than to fix my google toolbar to get some domains

I give a hearty thumbs-up to the SuSE line of Linux products. SuSE puts out what I think is the best overall home Linux package, <B>especially</B> for people who only have experience with hahahahahahas. The YaST and YaST2 setup tools are every bit as easy as the hahahahahahas automatic detection and installation tools for adding and maintaining hardware.

The SuSE enterprise packages also rock most righteously.

The hahahas = W i n d o w s. This censoring bullshit is getting way out of hand.

Ive got Red Hat running on a system, it installed easily... I wondered why people fear linux ? It does take a little to get used to, but its straight forward...

Yeah yast makes it easy as hell. Even when installing new software you mostly never even have to type any commands manually. Alot different than I remember years ago. Why people are still using wind0wz is beyond me.

The one thing that dicked me is my internet kept dying so i had to start the install several times. I have a weak cable signal so when I have it hooked up to the modem AND the tv it drops out alot. Of course I was installing by FTP, had I just made a CD it would have been faster. Shouldn't take anyone else more than a few hours.

I've never had that problem because I always go out and buy the commercial versions of SuSE Linux. I really like the product and I like to support it. Plus, it is very handy to have the whole set of discs for when I need to reinstall or add something. You simply cannot beat $29.95 for an entire operating system along with thousands of games, utilities and production suites.

I dicked around with Gentoo for a day or two, then tried RedHat, then Debian..

Finally I picked up Suse at Best Buy and had it up and running with X in about an hour on a non-standard monitor.. still running, still strong. Great test platform for *nix scripting..
