Broward company admits handling payments for child porn
NEWARK, NJ (AP) -- A South Florida company is pleading guilty to processing credit card payments for an international child pornography ring. Fort Lauderdale-based Connections USA has agreed to forfeit $1.1 million and dissolve its business. The company was indicted in January in a New Jersey money-laundering scheme.
Connections USA admits receiving the child porn company's membership fees and wiring the money as directed by the company. Sentencing is set for August 16th. Officials say the Broward company kept an 11 percent commission. As part of the case, dozens of US citizens were charged with downloading child pornography. |
