50 dead tgps

At the end of the day you can look at EVERY traffic source and say it has gone to shit. Conversions are worse, traffic is harder to get and keep, and getting huge bulk joins is out the door. Then again you have webmasters with the same traffic source saying they are doing record sales, conversions and things just keep getting more interesting rather than harder.
Hosted Galleries: While hosted galleries do make some webmasters a good amount of money they are not ment to make you rich or really even count for serious money. They should be used for extra income. If you rely on them for all of your money then you have no clue what the hell they are for. Paysites use them for our own purpose, which is to get name exposure first off and hopefully joins to pay for the gallery and to make them USE more bandwidth so they can drive the cost of BW down for them. As long as the galleries make just enough to pay for the BW they use then overall the company is saving money because of the lower BW cost. Some companies really try to build galleries that will make a net profit, which isn?t many. Real Galleries: If you know how to build them then doing 10-30+ sign-ups a day isn?t anything to you. It?s a trick to each niche, each TGP, and a style that makes these guys power house the sales. We have about 10 major TGP GALLERY webmasters in our program. They all own TGP?s, they all submit to partner accounts and what looks to be normal TGP?s and they all use our hosted galleries. Getting sales from TGP?s isn?t about doing ONE thing; it?s about doing everything you can to get traffic and knowing how to work your traffic sources. Once you have the traffic you either know how to make it convert or you don?t.. I don?t think you can be shown how to have a green thumb. TGP?s and Gallery submissions are NOT going away any time soon. The only difference is times have changed. If you haven?t changed with the times then don?t blame the industry, blame yourself. |

Dial-up users make up most of the member base of paysites, that is why most paysites offer 4-5 minute videos that are downloadable and can be merged together. --------------------- Quote:

"If you sell the paysite before the visitor sees it, then you are gold."

Try and find one guy who will spend $300 on this as an exclusive set, http://www.paulmarkham.com/temp/semi.jpg When you can't now go and find me 10 who will buy it non-exclusive for $35. Easy isn't it. Shooting exclusive is for those who cannot sell direct. Also as more of the content providers go out of business, just look for the next blow out sale, those left will realise that they can charge more for their product. And forget about buying from "Russians" they may be cheap but few can shoot what will convert, it's just nice to put up the word exclusive on a site most of the time. |

Not on my watch....

I'm sure it will find a way to survive. Of course, in a very modified form.

most TGPs make far more from advertising "around" their galleries than the galleries themselves:2 cents:
|
This part of the porn industry has changed so fast in 10 years, anyone who thinks it won't in the next year is a moron.
Firstly you have to know what the TGP market is. Surfers who will never pay, surfers who cannot pay, surfers who sometimes pay and surfers who use it as a sampling medium to find the next site they will belong to. Never pay, forget about him. he will probably become a webmaster. :1orglaugh Cannot pay, too young and busy getting hooked to porn. :) Sometimes & samplers, these are the guys we earn our money from and probably why The Hun can charge $500 a day. What might happen is the paysites will realise that a $500 a day banner is cheaper and a lot less trouble than keeping, finding and giving webmasters a slice and making sure they are not screwing you rotten. Plus the good TGP sites will realise that they could get $5 a day a listing for the lower listing for the first week and then some of the clowns will disappear. Some can't afford to buy a $5 set to work with, let alone $5 a day to list it on a single TGP. Let's be honest, other than providing free porn for those who are unable to pay at present TGPs do not create traffic, they merely guide it. So if half the crap webmasters and TGP sites disappeared tomorrow would we lose a single surfer? This is just my opinion but the market will change and change fast, that you can be sure of. |

" Surfers with broadband are going to get tired of 30 sec clips and TGPs will not be able to post really big movies for them so the Broadban surfer is going to seek paysites and skip the dumb shit." they won't have to search for them cause you're handing it over to them..through a gallery, by stating that sponsor X has 100's of hours dvd quality downloadable movies Galleries are like big advertisements..learn how to sell :2 cents: |

Otherwise there are a zillion ways to make cash off a TGP. |

tgp is not dying if anything there is a huge growth right now, and gts is making more sites alot more money then they made in the past and removing a ton of the headaches. Now they can focus on traffic and listings and building instead of on getting paid on time, selling the spots etc.

The Death Of TGP's?
You are ALL wrong! Hosted Galleries from Sponsors are kicking ass! When I started day to day operation of AMPLAND in 2000 the site was getting about 250,000 uniques a day. And the primary source of income was selling text links. NOW we are getting close to 800,000 uniques a day and just off of sponsor hosted galleries we are grossing over $750,000 a year! When I add in other ad revenue we are popping WAY over a cool million a year on Ampland. TGP's Dying? We just keep growing and growing! What has died is the sudden glut of thousands upon thousands of former "customers" who suddenly joined affiliate programs and became "webmasters" and started freeloading off of our traffic by having us post their galleries. I know you might say..."well it was our galleries that kept people coming to your site" Maybe...but since day one we have made Ampland into WAY more than just galleries. We were the first with daily humor back in '96 and we just keep adding things for people to do. And as I said...once I got RID of the public submitters...our traffic went through the roof! Maybe it's because we are honest with the surfers and don't allow pop-ups and don't have any blind links. I think you might be confusing some of the "fake" tgp's who only exist to blindlink and trade traffic with other "fake" tgp's in a stupid attempt to get big numbers. The "real" TGP's like us still have top quality traffic. That's why my link spots aren't available to the general public for sale. I keep 'em for myself because they are just too valuable. No, the TGP's will never die. But I'm afraid our days of being a FREE SITE are going to come to an end soon. That's what is really going to happen. The government will very soon shut down ALL free sites. So the name of this post should be: "The Death Of Free Sites and how it will really happen." Well how it will really happen is...one day John Ashhahahahaha is just gonna say "Free sites are illegal because ANYONE including CHILDREN can access them." And the day that happens I will make 3 or 4 million dollars when Ampland becomes the cheapest and biggest pay site on the planet! It's called "evolution" baby! And the law of un-intended consequences! :) |

you are inspiring me to get rid of my gallery submitters... |
Chunk 'em Shemp! They're just freeloaders making money off of your name! Hell, cut me in on a percentage and I'll tell you all my secrets! Heh-heh! I'm gonna be at Webmaster Access in Atlanta this weekend by the way...and I plan on drinking my way through the whole fucking town! That's one of my secrets right there...whoring and drinking....constantly.

I really don't think that TGP will die completely but I have seen a few bite the dust. I think the biggest players will survive. It's going to be like the big search engine battle a few years back. Eventually only a few will dominate and the rest will be just clinging on to the edge. So my "Death of TGP" should be considered the same as the "death of SE's". Most died but it's still big biz. |
I also like the way you see it, but something else will come up for sure

You can always tell the guys who don't know shit by their sky is falling posts. |
My tgp still works fine and brings money.
|
I find that noobs post about "falling conversion rates... blah blah blah". I regularly convert programs at 1:250 RAWS and recently even have a program converting at 1:111 (for the month) RAWS. The only reason dumbasses have high conversion rates is because they are pushing the same programs as a million other webmasters OR pulling a straight up newb trick of putting all kinds of niches on their sites and expecting to make alot of sales.
--> TGP TIP OF THE CENTURY RIGHT HERE <-- Don't run a million sponsors on your new tgp. Don't start a multi-niche tgp if your a newb. Stick to specific niches that not everyone and their brother are promoting and only run a few sponsors on each tgp. BAM! Did that hurt your head? |

Since everyone is bumping old threads today, I'd like to take this oppotunity to
apologise to all TGP owners for saying that TGPs were going to die. |
