Indeed, one of the reasons why in the recent NSA employment drive they're putting a great deal of emphasis on "Arab & Chinese linguists".
Even scarier that they hadn't already been doing this :helpme

I was just reading an article about that China steel producing situation ( I guess its producing via tons of large steel mills.. not buying.. or maybe its both)...anyway, the article was talking about how they are fucking up our steel industry here because of the glut of steel on the market.

So picture this....

China makes/buys/hoards a shitload of steel... ruining the global market & forcing many US steel companies to close their doors.

In the mean time, China may or may not have been 'sitting on' that steel at all.. and instead they could have been building tanks, planes, ships etc...

:helpme

Of course this is just latenight paranoid conspiracy psychobabble.... :)

It's Nato we are a member of that Org. Nato says how many troops we will have in Europe, and the kind of Troops, the number of Air planes ect

Ummm... it's so the US can keep the world destabilized enough that it can maintain control and domination... what are you new?

Basic_man 05-03-2004 06:40 AM

You really can't think about it as overstretched...these troops are in prime locations for deployment and it puts them closer to where things may occur. During Desert Storm, a majority of planes routed through these places and so were troops. Makes for quicker response and mobilization. If all were in the U.S. and something broke out in Syria, we would shend so much more time and $$ getting people over there. As it stands, Europe is closer to the Middle East than we are...:2 cents:

These current numbers are a tremendous waste of resources when our guys are getting overwhelmed in Iraq.

The US currently has its military forces deployed in 130 countries around the world.

75,000 US Troops Are In Germany. Why?

41,000 US Troops Are In Japan. Why?

41,000 US Troops Are In South Korea. (OK we need some here, but come on 41,000???)

17,000 On Ships Near South Korea. (OK we need some here also, but 17,000???)

13,000 US Troops Are In Italy. Why?

12,000 US Troops Are In The UK. Why?

You might think we're still worried about the Soviet Union and China doing nation building.

Another interesting stat. Only 300,000 of the US Military's 1.4 million active duty personnel are trained for war zone combat operations.

The current cost of our military is $1.1 Billion per Day.

Time to change the allocations and leadership of the US Military. Its plagued with mismanagement and waste.

Your thoughts?

Cost of policing the world is not cheap :)
