PPC traffic guys: Tips thread (contribute and learn)

Okay, I know some of you fuckers don't like to share your tips. Try to keep them secret and stealth like.

Well I like to share mine ;)

How do YOU get your PPC traffic to convert? Do you send it right to the sponsor or do you send it to a gallery, or send it to an FPA?
An FPA with text? A gallery with pics or movies..?

These are just some questions you can quickly and generall answer.

Personally I make my title and description as non-clicky as possible, so only those who READ the whole thing will want to click. Once clicked they are sent to an FPA with text description. (almost like a review)

The other way I do it is to make a mini review site of a couple sites and let the surfer decide. I also throw on some upsells like pills, pumps and dating.

Also who do you use for your traffic?
Findwhat and sex.com are excellent ppc engines in my experience.

Don't be shy folks let's hear what you have to say.

You have to pre-qualify like a mofo... Just like you said... I bought some traffic from google and goto in the past... always turned a buck on it...

my tip:

target the hell out of your ad. one wrong word can bring in hundreds of wasted clicks.

that is my one and only tip, I want to keep my 1:150-200 conversion ratio.

sending your traffic to a HPA or FPA really improves the signup ratio

Alright, BradM has a point and I'll help him out..

Google AdWords - BEST PPC for Adult in my opinion.

Don't just churn out your messages on the fly, pick out some keywords, juice some cash into the campaign and let it rip. You will LOSE your investment. Take the time out, research your terms, make 1-2 ad groups per 10-15 keywords. Spread everything out, keep tabs on it constantly and aim for CTR's of 3% or higher just to start out with (my avg is 8%-11%, but I have pulled off as high as 19% for some campaigns).

Hahahahaa!!

I still use them for adult.. I've used OV, but their rates are insane, and Google actually rewards you for achieving a higher CTR.

Overture - The more you bid, the higher up on the site we'll put you, therefor more clicks! (and more money for us!)

AdWords - The higher your CTR, the less you have to pay, and the higher we'll put you on the AdWords SERPs. (we like relevancy and cash too to keep you happy!)

Google Wins!

I remember there was a search engine (possibly goto) that showed what keywords surfers were searching for. So if you typed "sex" it would show all the sex combos out there.

Is there still anything like that out there?

It varies.. and also depends on the niche..

For a tougher niche to convert, something like Teens you definitely need a buffer page, with something to catch the eye of the surfer who you just paid for, and to get them to clickthrough to the actual sponsor and hopefully convert.

Awesome. Thanks.

I heard google used to offer "special" ad campaigns for clients who spend more than $15k a month do they still do this?

We will soon be testing out a new product never before seen by any surfer and we intend on buying at least $50 to $60 grand a month in traffic from various sources (search engine, TGP, etc).

Oh I got another question.

With google adwords can you buy click traffic from a certain country to better customize the ad?

Google phased out the "sponsored listings" in Nov '03.. they are no longer accepting new advertisers, only AdWords, but if you are going to become a large advertiser, there are A LOT of "special treatment" perks for ya. ICQ me and I'll let you know.

PPC is great if you take the time to figure out what the hell you're doing. It's a mess if you just throw up an ad in 5 minutes. Im quietly going along making my $60 a day with some adwords campaigns that are literally running on auto-pilot.

I should get my ass in gear and expand!

Sponsored Listings appeared directly on top of the regular Google listings, usually in shaded colors such as green, purple, pink, blue..

AdWords appear on the right hand side, maximum 8 boxes per page.

The difference was budget I suppose. Sponsored listings were paid on a CPM basis of something like $15 (depends on the industry) and AdWords is strictly Pay Per Click.

actually, you could get a sponsored listing if you had a REALLY good ctr. I used to run some mortgage campaigns and occasionally my ad made its way to to coveted colored box. Let me tell you though...it actually SUCKS. you get so many worthless clicks this way.

if you guys want a really good tool for keyword research check out adwords analyzer. I use it, and it REALLY saves alot of time. Yes, im going to spam my ref code, but this tool will pay for itself after 2 signups and makes keyword research cake.

You get 3 or even 10% ctr with Ad Words?
Must be with keywords that you are the only advertiser.
or you have ads that say "click heere for free teen sex".
But seriously, if you get such high CTR, you must be either using very rare keywords or be the top bidder for they keywords you bid for. And if you are bidding much, then you must have extremely detailed ad descriptions, stating the trial price etc.
And if you state the pice, then you wo't get such hight CTR...

so what i am missing ?

How do you guys get enough volume to be useful?

I haven't had much experience with PPC, but buying exclusively from google only I would have only made about 5-6 sales per month. The conversion rate was reasonable (I think it was about 1:120), but the clicks were sparse. A TGP gallery spot or two would have made more sales for a similar or lower advertising cost.

thats the only tough thing about adwords. Your click volume can be pretty low if your keywords are kinda rare. I generate about 300-400 clicks a day and pull in 2-3 sales. I'm looking for ways to expand but I dont like spending more that 6 cents a click.

$100 a day would make me happy. I'd be able to not have to work and focus on college, which is a bitch when you work all the damn time at some shitty job!

I've had adwords that click 5%. You just have to have a good set of keywords- and make the ad as targetted as possible.
