the reality is that it is technically feasible to make a contraption like this. you see the mockups at oshkosh every year. this past year there was a very clever $18K ultralight helicopter that was actually flying around. a very cool commuting device IF...
large scale mass production will never happen when it takes serious training of the average person to control the machine. moller has been screwing around with this for many years now. you can probably train a chimpanzee to make a cadillac go down the road, and just about any fool can get a driver's license. not so with a flying machine, and this limits the potential market for the device. |
