Not necessarily a nick here on GFY, but online anywhere....

I was 'Maestro' when I started (I think it was on AOL and possibly carried over to Yahoo) back in like, '94/'95, because I have a passion for Mozart. Still do, but dumped the nick a long long time ago.

I was always called "Jive" because of the dancing demon inside of me from teenager till presently.. and have never used any other nicks or handle as when you change you look like a tool or your hiding something.., why would I change anything being unique is the true key factor and my nickname is used in the real world as well not just online.. the ones that use different aliases aren't worth reading or remembering anyways be it on this forum or other ones.. all the best *Gone Jiven*
:winkwink:

LadyMischief 04-30-2004 11:32 AM

Mistral. And it was from '93... and even a bit before that when I first got into the bbs scene before there was an internet as we know it today.

i don't think that's necessarily true.... people change nicks for all kinds of reasons. Not always because they're trying to hide something.

95-96 I used *apache*...because there is apache blood in my family. The problem is that apache was used by major software programs and I received lots of spam before spam was popular.

That could be true amp; but I find there's alot of staff/employees on here from several different programs I have seen use alot of different nicks and I think they should stick with one.. the staff or webmaster can do much better biz this way..

this is sorta like having 20 phone numbers? he.he.

It even comes down to email addresses some are men pretending to be women and the other way around.. I don't care for that when there's business involved. if it's just plain out chat fun okay but. other than that sorry I don't dig that.. :2 cents:

Rictor 04-30-2004 12:20 PM

Rictor, because it was one of those X-men related characters that wasn't already taken on Undernet IRC chat in 1996.

Giorgio_Xo 04-30-2004 01:01 PM

Giorgio Armani was my first online nickname. The name came from my blacksmith character on Ultima Online (1998).

Missy 04-30-2004 01:04 PM

Wow! I had totally forgotten that I used to be Kiki! I have no idea why I chose that name, but I can't for the life of me picture myself as a "Kiki". That's too funny!

Rochard 04-30-2004 01:21 PM

Zachary, and then Zak3. At one point I owned zak3.com.

Why?

I worked for the phone company as a directory assistance operator - You know, 411? Each operator in every area code had to have their own operator name. We picked from a list. I wanted to be "Zaltar, king of the operators" but that wasn't on the list. The closest I could get was Zachary. We had a little tape that said our operator name for every call - I head it some 2000 times a day, once per call. People called me Zachary all day long.

It stuck.
