Disposible porn CD, good or bad idea?

I read somewhere that some mainstream companies have introduced into the market CDs that are no longer viewable 7 days after the package is open. Do you think these CDs would help increase profit in Porn?

Im not too sure. I would say it depends on the method of disabling the CDs.

I think the best way to make money would be to stick movies inside of flash and add commercials after each scene...

It's a good idea I have heard last year somewhere but I don't know why anybody have tried to start with it..

Sounds interesting and would be a way to increase any income for buying movies in that format...

Nothing would be stopping them from copying the material over to a harddrive or burning it to another CD.

Cheers,
Matt

We have a client who is launching order your own porn DVD at the August Internext. Basically you go to their web site, select the clips you want and then it get burned to a DVD as a hahahahahahas Media File and shipped to you. Their is DRM so you can NOT copy it and it will expire in 7 - 30 days. Their target market is the 70% of the US internet users who are on Dial up. Here are the issues.

1. You can only play this on a PC or WMV enabled DVD Player (Their is only one out their right now)

2. You have to wait for the DVD to be delivered (Will take about 2 - 3 days), no instant gratification

3. Cost of creating a custom DVD is around 1.00 - 1.50 compared to mass produced DVD which is around 75 cents.

Yes, The issue in the past was that you had to buy a special DVD player that only played that formt of the disk and we never had NetFlix etc.

Now days MSFT has convinced all the DVD guys that they should included support for their WMV in DVD players

that would have been something worth while in the begining of the internet (when DL speeds were slower) but with broadband, there is no point.

The technology is being used by Disney for certain DVDs. In the making of the physical DVD, a light / air sensitive layer is applied under the surface. When the DVD is removed from the protective wrapper, it takes about 3 - 5 days for the protective layer to turn black, which makes the disk unreadable.

No software BS, no nothing. Just pure standard science at work :-)
