Time Management Tips

Most of us work from home or on our own and have to work a bit at time management. So, time to help each other a bit for those days when we feel everything is piling up. What are your tips for work related time management?

The thing that helps me the most is to have a weekly todo list (broken into days) that is my start page in my browser. That way my duties stare me in the face everytime I open it. I am also one of those people that will get too absorbed in one task and forget about the rest. So, on my todo list I give some tasks time limits and when I notice I am slipping I grab an egg timer and when it goes off I make myself move on.

I read a book recently about time management and for about a week I managed to organize my time as the author advised. It's just too hard for me to make a plan for any day, because there are always things that come up and force me to change my plans

That's the hardest part. Keeping your schedule.

Someone way smarter then me once told me:

To be your own boss you have to treat yourself as your worsed employee.

So I need to kick my butt every once in a while.

What I found helps is:

Doing the shitty repeating tasks first, because with those out of the way you have time for the stuff you like doing.

Automate, automate and if you can then automate some more

Specifically for the online ventures goes try to minimise your time building so you can maximise your time promoting.

Well that my anyway

Sarah, I do something very similar but yours is better. I have a clipboard with all my "to-do" stuff on it and I go down the list. I check them off or hahahahaha notes on them (sent proofs..etc) until they're done.

It helps A LOT!!!

My tip is on the same line.

At the end of every day go to your list and tick off what you have done. Then make a new list and prioritise them MOST IMPORTANT to least.

Next day pick up the list and go to work.

I have a todo list. It keeps growing. I add to it now and then. I seldom seem to find myself removing from it.

Time management is hard, also my memory is bad so I use OneNote to remember all the ideas I get through the day (mostly a lot).A start page in your browser with the to do list seems to be a good idea.

I do the tasks that I loathe to do first so that way I dont have to think about them anymore. Get the worst out of the way to make room for all the fun stuff.

Don't answer your phone or your door until work is done. If someone comes to your hahahahahaha ignore them until your work is done. I don't know about anyone else but I can't work with people around me, cause they always wanna talk or do something else.

omg, I am so like that.. Problem is that my husband is home all day too and he does have a habbit of asking me to do something or starting to talk to me just as I get into something work related.
