I dated two Derek's in a row. The first Derek's birthday was two days before mine, the second Derrick's bday was the day before mine. Neither of them lasted very long, though.

Maybe he talked to some physic and that person told him that his soul mate is born on that day. Then he only finds and dates people with that birthday. Eating Chicken for lunch and pasta for dinner shows how superstitious the guy is. Maybe he thinks it gives him good luck and it's his ritual. Lot's of famous people have rituals and do whatever it takes to keep them on top. Look what people on athletes are willing to do.
