Let's see here.....
"I was invited to a backyard barbecue" "I was invited to a backyard grill" .... grill sounds stupid. It's definitely a barbecue, you people are definitely barbecuing, your food has definitely been barbecued. Besides, how did this "grill" shit even get into this thread. I thought the choices were barbecue (bbq) and cook-out. A backyard cook-out sounds better than a backyard grill, but a cook-out could mean anything, the food could be cooked in numerous ways. The term "barbecue" leaves no doubt as to what's happening. |
we've always called it a barbeque here, maybe it is a north-south thing.
and as cd said, grill does sound stupid, make me think of my foreman grill |
