ACHDebit vs Electracash - what is the best for checks?

Gonna improve current CCBill's checks option.

Heard that Electracash and ACHDebit are good. Any comments or opinions? Pros and cons are welcome.

I use both and prefer ACH. Electracash charges for every single transaction, even the ones that come back NSF, non-existent accounts etc... This is not right, in my opinion. The good part is that they pay every day and not every two weeks like ACH does.
ACH only charges for successful trasactions. Your third option for checks is proBilling...

I've heard nothing but good things about ACHDebit/WTS -- I haven't heard anything bad about Electracash -- but I do know that every consulting client I have on ACHDebit is nothing but VERY pleased with them.

Hello!

If you want the 411 on taking online checks with Electracash
contact HMOSS - [email protected]

Great Article written on taking online checks

You want to make sure what is the bottom line for cost for processing. Per transaction, NSF fee and Set up extra, reserves etc ...

Some companies might charge a lower flat rate .. but then charge for set up or add a per transaction.

Before for you start .. make sure you are aware of all the costs invovled. Also, get a couple of recommendations...

I am aware of all the costs and you are NOT cheap. Go for WTS until electracash stop charging for things they shouldn't be. I've got enough numbers to know what I'm talking about.

Reporting From: 2/19/2004
Through: 3/15/2004
Distribution Date: 3/22/2004

Gross Sales: $669.20
Less Returns: $149.85
Less Refunds: $79.90
Less Fees: $106.99
Less Reserves: $33.49
Plus Rejected Refunds: $0.00
Misc Adjustments: $20.00

Total Distribution: $318.97

This means you charged me $106.99 for NET sales of $439.45
Now that's almost 25% !!!!!!!!!

Stay Away from Electracash.

They charge FEES on GROSS Sales... and their scrubbing absolutely sucks! Bottom line is that you pay 25% of the NET Sales.

On top of that, they have no idea how to calculate.

Look at these Stats:

3,428.20 (Initial Sales)
3,833.60 (Recurring Sales)
629.10 (Redeposited Sales)
------------------------------------------
7,890.90 (Total Sales)

509.15 (Refunds)
4,404.95 (Returns)
------------------------------------------
$2,976.80 (Net Sales)

Payment Report:

7831.00 (Gross Sales)
- 4367.05 (Less Returns)
- 812.36 (Less Fees)
- 149.75 (Less Refunds)
- 391.69 (Less Reserves)
- 20.00 (Misc Adjustments)
------------------------------------------
$2090.23 (Total Distribution)

They paid us $2130.15 after charging us 23.5% of Processing Fees on Net Sales. (And 10.37% on Gross... 0.37% over the supposed flat 10%)

They still own us 391.69 (Reserves) and this week someone call us to ask us to MAIL THEM a check of $310.00 because our account is in the negative. What a fucking joke.

Oh and another thing.

When a jackass joins your paysite using their bs check system and don't pay a single dime by using a fake ZIP code, they charge you the processing fee... but DO NOT add him to the black list.

So basically we paid the processing fee 4-5 times for the same jackass hacking their bs system with the exact same ZIP Code.

We use Netbilling for checks (and credit cards). Thier pricing is excellent and you can control the fraud scrubbing yourself.

Shit! I hadn't noticed that! Thanks for letting us know, I'll look into it. I still use them for a couple of low traffic pay sites and will end up pulling them out completely.
What do you think about proBilling now that they are out of cc?

indigo - not sure where you get your numbers from them - we are doing alot through them - ask holly - and nothing like those types of %'s and #'s - and that is with doing substantially more $$ than what your doing.

Jettis also offers ACH whether or not you use our credit card processing. We use a number of systems to help limit the number of returns as well as a recollection process on NSF type returns.

Rates start at 10% with no return fee.

Hit me up at [email protected] if you'd like more details.

Thanks for all the good words We were recently invited to meet with a large program owner (the program's large - he's average sized ) who said time after time when he asked someone who they used for processing, they said WTS and then they would tell them how happy they were. It was pretty exciting to get accolades 3rd hand

As others have mentioned, with WTS we ONLY charge you processing fees on the GOOD CHECKS. This means we have extra incentive to make sure as many checks as possible go through. This includes an inhouse collections department

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here or email me at peaches at onlinebeach dot com

And again, thanks for the good words!!

Looks like SAGA CONTINUES ...

I am really not sure what WTS means extactly by ?cleared? the bank. But Electracash charges on transactions after we have scrubbed and removed things like duplicates, negatives database etc.. Then those transactions are sent, once they are sent, those are the ones that are charged.

Seems like the old issue w/ credit card, bundled vs. non bundled rates. Just different ways to the slice the pie.

I also think if you have a decent and clean business model The PROCESSORS of today (credit card or ACH) are willing ( with in legal limits) accommodate and be flexible transaction formula.

Hey Holly. It was good seeing you in Phoenix and meeting your sister, too. ;-)

Just to try and clarify WTS' billing philosophy, what we mean buy charging on "cleared" checks is as follows:

When WTS accepts a transaction in real-time (following the scrubbing), we do not charge our merchants.

Instead, we wait 8 calander days. At that time, if the initial transaction has not been returned, we count the check as settled (cleared) and assess our fee.

This is what we mean by charging on settled (cleared) checks.

Merchants who would like more information can Click Here for a better understanding of what WTS can provide via our ACH Debit solution.

I wish they would do the same thing. They would then be perfect!

How is it probilling can offer a "DirectCheck" program which clears checks right away without there ever being a possibility of a charge back/NFS happening?

How come others cannot do this?
