Guys,

What's a good program to join smaller MPEG clips in to one movie file?

Try out Ulead Videostudio 7. I used the trial version to make this video . It was 12 clips that I merged together and made into a wmv file. I still have to work on figuring out how to compress it better, though.

for a small job, camel's mpeg joiner would do it

Videocharge is the best right now. I use TMPGEnc Plus.

It's overkill, but you might want to look at VirtualDub. It's free and has editing functions so you can get the joins right.
