It's not ok for big companies to allow cheating just because they make a lot of money from it.. IMO a company that accepts fraudulent traffic like this is no better than the guy doing the cheating. I am one of the minority of the webmasters on this board who believe who don't have to lie , cheat and steal to make money in the adult biz but you do have to work harder and be more creative than the scumbags.
What is truly disturbing is how of the biggest SLEAZEBALLS are the sponsors and web hosts who are the biggest advertisers on GFY and how many times they are shielded from accurate criticism and it's funny how they deny any wrongdoing even when caught with their pants down.
What is equally distressing is the young punks that immediately get into the biz and start spamming/scamming without even given the honest approach a try. Sad.

I completely agree. We become our own worst enemies by not refusing to deal with people who have been proven unethical and by not refusing to deal with those who do work with them.
That inaction makes scams a no-lose situation because except for putting a (temporary) crimp in your cash flow there is no effective penalty. IMO that makes the rest of us mugs twice over and encourages others to go that route.Comment

Seriously, you can't blame them for what they did. They saw an opportunity (if it wasn't already planned from the start) and they jumped at it, and I'm sure they are capitalizing on it five million times over.
There are two companies that specialize in the art of spyware. WhenU and Ciara (formerly Gator). They literally make millions each day from their advertisers and affiliate links. They are spyware to the max.
You have to ask yourself, if someone told you "I can show you how to make $20 Million in one year, but you'll have to burn every bridge you've made to do so" would you take it or turn it down. I will bet that 99.9% (excluding the french, because they are just idiots) would say, "hook me up!" with zero hesitation. I'm not applauding these guys, but they made a business decision, and they are making more than enough money with it, and I doubt they regret it too. So just find a new free counter and use that. Stop pretending to care so much, you are just upset that you didn't think of it first, and that's the end of it.

Just because money is involved does not make it "business". Otherwise bank robbers and swampland salesmen would be businessmen: they are not. They are crooks.
And I couldn't give a flying f*ck what most people might do if temptation were dangled in front of them. It isn't even relevant. Scammers of every kind, whether they rip off surfers or webmasters, damage everyone in the industry. Therefore anyone who knowingly works with scammers is a fool and must share the blame for what they do.Comment
