Monday's Winners:
HPA Winner: Zvik for: http://www.zvik.com/works/ad_fucking...n_preview2.gif Small banner winner: Tootie for: http://www.bannerbabe.com/contests/c...-468x60-01.gif Send the PSD files in ZIP format to rick AT dollars.com along with your prefered method of payment for your reward. There were a lot of good ones in here. I may just be doing this every day of the year. |
By the way guys, any ads posted after midnight can be reposted for Wednesday's Fucking Eighteen contest so your labors didn't go to waste.
|
Getting the day off to a good start:
http://www.hardcockmovies.com/CJBUCK...ages/HPA-1.jpg Rick, I tried to download several of the hi-bandwidth movies, and they failed for me. I wanted to make some higher quality screencaps. Thanks, blueboy |

If any other designers are having a bitch of a time with the PLUMBINGS logo...
http://www.esbee.net/cjbanner/pshow.jpg I recreated it pretty damn close. Not spot-on perfect, but at least it's on a transparent background. Layers are intact so PS users can fine-tune to make it even closer. Also saved a PSP version, though had to flatten to transparent background so not so easy to fine-tune. Pick them up here. Hope it helps :) |
|
a little tip, work with paths to extract the logo.... it looks very smooth after a few modifications...
i'll post my entry soon. |
Well there is my entry for today's plumbings contest :)

1. Use the full URL somewhere in the banner as type-in traffic is very valuable. Find a way to always actually put http://www.plumbings.com or at least www.plumbings.com. At the minimm you should have plumbings.com in there because othewise plumbings is just a word and meaningless in the banner. 2. The handjob image does nothing to promote an anal site. |

I have worked as an affiliate marketing manager for years...as well as running my own sites....I have to say, if a banner has a full url, as an affiliate, I won't use it. Type in traffic is certainly valuable, however, if my surfer types in the url instead of clicking I don't get credit for the sale. As a site owner, your point makes sense, but as an affiliate, it costs me money. ;) I'd have a nice mix of banners with and without urls so your affiliates can choose for themselves. ;) [added] I usually use mouseovers with the url to the site....so you can always suggest to your affiliates to use those instead if they don't want to use the url banners [/added] |
BTW, I'm waiting for a usr/pass to the sites so I can join in the fun!

I appreciate the feedback. It is definitely useful to me as I am new to all this and don't really know what sells best sometimes. What sells for a car dealer or realtor has no bearing on this lmao. I will take all the tips you guys and gals have and I honestly appreciate every one of them. Thank you.

Damn there are a lot of horrible designers on GFY. Anyway, good work zvik and congrats.

He didn't indicate file sizes he desired. I can make 1k if needed. I was just going for flashy. Tip well taken though. I am still learning.

This is so kewl! For a GFY thread, and a contest thread to boot people are actually being helpful and sharing tips! woohoo! haha
|
Does it help to slice it all up and put it in a table?? Or do advertisers not want a table but a solid image?
|
a table is better....imageready will create the table and input the slices for you at the click of a button ;)
