SE traffic .tv versus .com

Hi,

I have a .tv website/domain (gaming) and a .com (porn) one, and I noticed that the .com gets WAY more visits from the SE spiders than the .tv one. Which results in more traffic. So my question is, what is your experience with this? Is a .tv domain crap whn it comes to Search Engines?

Thanks!

You likely don't have as many relevant backlinks to your .tv. The extension should have no effect really, though .com's are still more legitimate because people register any new extension so it's keyword loaded.

Cheers,
Matt

i think it depends on the nature of the site and what your promoting, i.e how competive the keywords and site your promoting

There is one GFY poster ( 'integrated' ) that is a serious domainer. He owns literally hundreds of .tv domains.
I think he can give you more advice on this.

To do a really fair test, both domains should have the same backlinks and text on different IP addresses. That being said, there *should* be no difference in the tld used, but again, this is very difficult to test.
