They have signs like that on the 5 freeway north of the Mexican border to warn drivers that there are people running across the freeway . . . . and as I recall, they also have them on the highway south of the border when you start to get close to a new village

why does the mexican olympic team suck so bad?
everyone who can run, jump, or swim is already in the US. |
That sign is 12 miles from my house-
I laugh everytime I see it and it's really a landmark in So Cal- When I managed EEK A MOUSE the legendary reggae singer we used the sign on the front of his Tour Shirt Being that he resided in SD at the time and had a hit song called " Border" It was only appropriate |
Question is, what does it cost America?
Youd be surprised. A report by the respected Center for Immigration Studies, a Washington-based think tank, said Thursday that immigrants in 1992 produced a net national deficit of $29.1 billion, borne mainly by California and six other states. The center compared the cost of social services and education against taxes and fees paid by immigrants to come up with the deficit. This estimate contrasts with a finding by the Urban Institute, in an Administration-commissioned study, that immigrants had in fact brought the United States a net benefit of $28.7 billion. However, the institute acknowledged that it costs California $1.28 billion annually to pay for the education of illegal immigrant children. http://www.cis.org/articles/1994/coverage.html Los Angeles County is facing the closure of 16 hospitals and health care facilities because of looming insolvency. The problem is not that the facilities are underused. They are used too much, and because health care workers are not instructed -- some would say not permitted -- to inquire as to the immigration status of people seeking care, the facilities are saddled with millions in costs that are not reimbursable under the Medicaid (search) program. Medicaid reimburses medical facilities only for emergency treatment of illegal aliens. Because no inquiry as to immigration status or even residency is ever made, medical services that are not reimbursable under Medicaid are regularly rendered. As a result, Los Angeles County incurred a $360 million healthcare deficit in fiscal 2002 alone. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,93964,00.html 1/3 of the US illegals reside in Calfornia |
