its kinda like cellphones and printers. they make the applicator very cheap and when you need refills they are exp.

Gillette is quite famous for the 'sell the product at a loss and then make a killing on the refills' technique.

In markets where there are only a couple companies controlling 99% of the market, you can charge whatever you can get away with, with impunity.

I actualy find the quatro easier to clean than the mach3.

I've bought "eternal" mach-3 razor 5 years later for $250.
Still using it =)

I think it's cheaper than buying ordinary mach-3 razors in the nearest mall.

Dont ask me to sell it, it will go to my children.. And then to their children. And so on =) :Graucho

I tossed my Mach 3 and went back to the Sensor. The Mach 3 clogs to easily if you have any kind of beard at all... though it probably works well on peach fuzz.

They sent me a free razor in high school and I have been using it ever since... buying the refills which are $$$. I like it though...

i just bought the 20 pack at sams club for 27 bucks... ouch

Same can be said about loads of things, like games consoles... Sell the console cheap then charge loads for the games.
