Several times we had gone around with diffrent groups of people from diffrent races to find out a couple of chicken shit would run and i would find myself in bad situation. The reality is, and I think it's been pointed out already, there is an urban culture among most blacks that train a great majority of them more towards the 'warrior' mentality, whereas suburban and most urban whites are looking to become lawyers, doctors and actors, very different type. But this is a social order and has nothing to do with race.

Additionally I grew up in Romania where I saw maybe 5 black folks in 14 years, I can assure you everyone was very curious, but scared? No, this is an American thing my friend.

Just the fact that it can be talked about this openly (if not always intelligently) is a step forward, in a way.

Anyway, sure racism plays a role, but I think it's more a matter us being naturally inclined to fear what is different from us.

When I was a teen, in the 80s, I was a "new-waver." Basically we looked like punks, except we paid $40 bucks for our mohawks (which came with a lovely neck massage) and bought our clothes at consignment stores rather than thrift shops. (I believe another term was "poseur", but we elite reserved that term for people who only TEMPORARILY dyed their hair pink, the pussies.) Anyway, the vast majority of "mainstream' people (I think we called them...um, well, we didn't call them) were afraid of us or for whatever went out of their way to avoid us. Including, yes, crossing the street to avoid even momentary contact.

In fact, we were about as dangerous as techno-pop. But we did go out of our way to separate ourselves from the mainstream. It was pretty foolish of us to expect mainstream acceptance despite this fact, but we did. Ah, youth.

Take a group of young people - more than about 3, really - and you're likely to make some us older folks feel a little edgy. (We're not necessarily afraid of you; we just remember how WE were.) Add to that anything that makes you remarkably different, and yes, we'll probably tend to avoid you - not necessarily out of fear. There are dozens of factors at work.

Overall, the black people that commit crimes are so separated from white areas that it a very unusual occurrance for a black on white crime to happen.

Well, I would have to say that it's not black people I am afraid of. I am afraid of anyone who looks "suspect" or likely to mess with me. Generally, I mean really gangsta thugs or ragidy dervish sorts are about the most hostile form of person I've encountered in public. Otherwise, I'd have to say no races scare me more than any other.

I probably babbled more than necessary and failed to make some points I would have liked to, but yes, I think that's a valid possibility. But it goes beyond that; it's fear of (or avoidance of) what's different from "us", or of what's simply unfamiliar.

It's called racism and is hahahahahaded in some societies from childhood. There is also an element of history where, least in the US, blacks were released out of slavery and ignored in stuff like the education system etc for generations - what else you expect than a higher crime rate? Nobody treated like that needs to be black to turn up that result.

I've never seen a more racist society than in the US, particularly in the southern states.
