cyberxxx read my post earlier about insurgents hiding behind civilians. Would there be civilian casualties if Iraq insurgents didn't hide behind women and children and fought US troops toe to toe? No. There wouldn't. There is no country that takes more time and effort to avoid collateral damage than the US. Yeh, 200,000 people got turned into burnt toast in the process, but it showed the world the power of nuclear bombs and prevented their use on cities ever since. It ended WWII. It also prevented the USA and the Soviet Union from going nuclear in 1963 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Its sad and totally horrific that 200,000 had to be sacrificed so that hundreds of millions would not have the same fate.

But this is the jungle we call earth and the nature of all the animals who live here including man.
