Anyone have this cell phone? (T Mobile Sidekick aka Hiptop)

I'm thinking of getting one... I've heard a lot of good things and a lot of bad things. Anyone have one?

what is the advantage of having one? doesn't a cell phone do mostly the same thing?

you can surf the net and use AIM with a full QWERTY keyboard. as well, you can multi-task, play games, use a calendar feature and take pictures.

i wouldn't be going with t mobile as the carrier though. i'd be going with fido in canada.

It's ok, but not the best for the price.

One of my admins has one, he's wishing he got a Blackberry in retrospect (me too). At first it was fine, then it puked a little, and the fit and finish wasn't all that hot.

Now it needs a good hard reboot, but that will erase all the data he has stuffed into it. He basically has a fat cellphone that does nothing.

Sure they are cool, but its a combination on being on T-mobile's network and the rush by Danger to get them on the street that is fucking it up for them.

I have one, its fun to have, I just have it as a text msg, pocket internet and email on my hip for $30 a month. The service is fine here in orlando. I also have a nextel for my cellphone, so I don't know about using it as a phone. A friend of mine has one also so we keep up on it. Its cool to just flip open and email someone, and its a great conversation piece.

Danger has a second model in the works which was displayed at some mobile convention last month. I think I may wait until those hit the streets.

Would those that have it recommend keeping a second phone as a cell?
