HYIP - High Yield Investment Programs 2%+ Daily??

Was doing some stock market related google searches and stumpled across this "HYIP" buzzword....

All these crazy programs claiming they'll pay 2%+ daily... wtf is going on here?

I guess they use the money and trade currency or futures or something.

I assume these are scams?

Most, if not all of the domains are out of the country.

I've done it. Many of them are nothing more than pyramid schemes. They have afilliate programs and stuff.

Also many promise like "2% for 150 days makes you profit". Well those are pyramid schemes. The 2% paid out is coming from more and more people signing up. The first ones in will get the profit but after a certain point they'll just close.

There WAS a very reliable one called pegasus that paid 2% per day faithfully. They ran into problems though. Now their payout is much lower and they've frozen everyones money. Supposedly we're going to get it, but I don't care too much cause I made a good amount of profit from them.

Stay away. Get a financial advisor or some good signals and you can make WAY more than 2% daily yourself easily

If you want to make money the best way is in mutual funds.

I have two that returned 44 and 47% last year. They are the best and safest way to make money.

lol you don't have tell me. I would never do anything like this.

I was just thinking about working on some stock market services projects again and was doing some searches to see what was currently out there and came across this whole HYIP underground..... crazy.

Question:
How do I start a Mutual Fund?

Your Answer: Answer last updated: 01-05-04
Known in legal terms as an "open-end management company," a mutual fund is a type of investment company. Before you consider starting a mutual fund, you should make sure you understand the laws and rules that apply to investment companies -- including the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Many investment companies, including mutual funds, must register with the SEC. To that end, you may wish to consult with an attorney who specializes in federal securities law.

You'll find more information (as well as a link to Mutual Fund Registration Form (Form N-1A) and Instructions) in the Info for Funds & Advisers section of our website. If you have additional questions, please call the SEC's Division of Investment Management, Office of Chief Counsel, at (202) 942-0659 or send an email to [email protected].

It really depends on the amount of money you have to invest. Once you reach over a certain amount, mutual funds are no longer a good investments. But if you don't have enough money for a well diversify portfolio, then I guess mutual funds is a good choice tho I would choose index funds instead of mutual funds...

It sounds like a modern ponzi scheme
