I was in the marines and the army

I am 28 now so I would not be obligated

however I have never in all 8 years met a soldier or marine that was told they could go in the military over jail in fact if you have a criminal record they wont take you

Discipline became a problem as no one wanted to be the last to die in an unpopular war...so those Officers and NCO's that wanted to actually engage the enemy..became the enemy to some of our troops. There were more than 900 known "fraggings" in Vietnam which is not really that many when you consider that something along the number of 3,000,000 served.
