It might be the fan or the power supply. If you have a spare case around, try putting everything into a new case.

Thats why you should always buy Norton Systemworks Pro, and use the program called 'Go Back' that comes with it!

If it's your hard drive, it might be repairable. I had a severe drive crash a few months ago and I thought all was lost, but I found a piece of software that repaired the problem AND saved EVERYTHING on my system. You can download the free trial. It will scan your system and tell you what it finds and what it can do. Then if you want it to fix the drive, you have to buy it. But it's one of the best $70 I ever spent, for sure. Of course, if the scan doesn't show any problems you don't have to buy it, which is good.

My husband says sometimes you get access denied when your drive is too full.

make sure your power supply fan is working, if it is, do you have an amd or intel cpu? if its amd and it overheats it will just shut off, if its intel it will beep at you, so if you have an intel you know that the cpu isnt the problem

what version on hahahahahahas are you running? try booting into a safe mode if possible ad see if that works

i would also get a boot disk with a scandisk program on it and check out your hard drives.

have you installed any new hardware lately? if so, remove it.

the only other things i can think of are a virus, in which case you will need up to date virus software, or a hahahahahahas error causing a reboot.

what version of hahahahahahas are you running? if it isnt nt, 2k or xp you can do a full reinstall without losing any of your settings or files.

Recently install/reinstall Windows XP? Windows 2000?

Sounds like your Norton got hit, your infected.

The newer virii take apart any virus checker and firewall (software firewall) in
a millisecond and then infect the system. Virus checkers and software firewalls
are for little girls and Grandmas...false sense of security.

First you have to go into "Run..." (off the Start button) and type
shutdown -a
then hit enter or OK

Then scan with this online scanner. It's going to ask you to install an
applet first visit...say "Yes".

Btw, do all this in Safe Mode, boot pushing F8 key at one second intervals
and select "Safe Mode with Networking" and boot into that.
