Ever tried buying websites from people who think there shit is worth something?
I have been looking for some sites / businesses online to purchase and I am having a hard time trying how to deal with a couple parties who are in the non adult business or slightly if that....
Why is it that when you approach them with a pretty simple email asking if they would be interested in selling and when you make a blind offer they want 10 fold what you are offering, which in negotaitions is normal start low and try and get yourself a good deal and usually the process goes he says alittle low or no thanks... So you come back and say well I need to see some stats, what kind of current income the site makes and etc and when all is said and done they want a shitlaod for a site thats making dick! So when you confront them and tell them why would anyone pay for something that isnt justified.... Then they proceed to say well you could do this and this and that with the site, I had dreams and plans for this and this... My response is pretty simple those are good ideas but those ideas aren't worth anything if they arnt developed... Whats your experience with dealing with parties about buying a site out and a general rule of thumb.... and how do you talk sense into there dam head... I mean most people wouldnt pay more than 3-4 monthes revenue and other sites depending on the business model maybe 6 monthes if that becuase the internet is so volatile and income solely rests on the person managing thesite, updating, marketing it and etc... .

What sucks is that by the time they realize you were right, they're gonna sell it to your competitor.
Same deal with morons selling used cars. There's been a used Acura for sale for months now in my apartment complex. Along with the normal "for sale" sign there's a printed copy of the blue book "value" of the car... to show how generous his "blue book minus $100" price is. I've never seen such a sellable car sit around in one place for so long, in town full of college students hungry for a used car. |
