Who put all the viruses on my computer...

So while I was gone, I had a couple people use my computer.

We'll call them Mr A and Mr Z.

Mr A was doing work on my computer and playing games. He ran a patch for Far Cry and installed a couple of pirated shitty games which I promptly deleted.

Mr Z was helping him do some work and ran Spybot and a number of other programs to get my computer "running better".

Mr A checked my email for me.

When I got home from Phoenix, my CPU was constantly pinned at 100% and I had like 30 extra EXEs running in Taskmgr that weren't there before. I wasn't happy!

Norton would run, but would close immediately. I had to do something so I ran an online Virus scanner and it promptly found 100's of viruses. I managed to get rid of a couple viruses that caused Norton to crash, and proceeded to run Norton overnight on all 6 of my 120+ gig drives.

I woke up to find over 45,000 infected files, and over 60 different viruses.

Before I left for Phoenix, I had none.

I opened Outlook and, as always, got flooded with Virus mails. I scrolled down and found that while I was gone, someone had marked as read over 100 virus emails. Did Mr A read, and then save-as the virus attachments and run them?

Did the Spyware removal software, Spybot, cause this? Was it some sort of hacked version, intent on destroying my computer?

What happened? I guess we'll never know. Now I'm working on a computer I bought yesterday, while my poor computer sits in a corner, ready to be formatted for duties as a gaming machine.

If I met the person that wrote the Netsky virus, I would break every finger of his, take a shit on his keyboard, and then DDT him into my feces while screaming "HERE IS YOUR hahahahahahahaha, SEE ATTACHMENT"

The computer I just bought is going to sit here and never be used for anything other than work. I'm going to password protect it from friends / drunkards / people / homies / chicks / sluts at parties from logging on and trashing things. I know my friend was just trying to help but taking ICQ and MSN out of my startup wasn't something I asked for.

Damn Huggles, that sucks! I've had to clean my fair share of machines for friends who insist on opening all ther emails (some of them more than once). Never to the scale of yours. 6 120+ gig hard drives would be a total bitch! A person could spend weeks cleaning that up!

1st thing: funny story, I like that Mr. A and Mr. Z. It reminds me of Reservoir Dogs ;)
2nd: It could basically be both, the spybot AND the Emailshit.
As a webmaster (of course ;)) I get every day about 10 fucking Emails saying, read the attached file, watch the picture, read the excel file. Im so sick of it. But as a matter of fact those are all virus infected files. So why don't you go and ask Mr. A (or was it Mr. Z?) and if he's not a jerk he'll tell ya what he's done. And if he won't give him a lesson acording to the price of your new PC
btw. Spyware might only open doors for trojan viruses. That means that another user gets access to your workstation, which doesn't nececcarily mean, that he destroys or deletes something...
anyways...hope I could help you a little...Good luck

It's obvious Mr.A is the fuckup. Mr.Z knows how to run spybot so probably
not the type to click on email attachments.

Mr.A on the other hand was doing the email and installing pieratty soft.
Mr.A is the infecto-boy.
