purchasing a luxury car

For those of you that drive cars in the 35 - 45,000 range.
Do usually pay it off at first...

or how do you go upon that?

What percent of a downpayment do you usually make?

Im confused on how to go upon this.

Don't buy it or finance it. Make it a corporate lease. Talk to your lawyer and/or CPA - they'll tell you how to set it up.

BTW, in that price range - I recommend GS300 by Lexus.

$35-$45k isn't a luxury car

$100,000 is where luxury begins

exspamr, I agree in terms of service - Japanese cares are the best. I've received the best service ever for my GS. They would even come to my house - pick it up and drop off another Lexus loaner for me at the door.

Lexus is usually ahead of all other automakers. For example, they just came out with the option that allows you to open your car with a finger print :-)

I also own a BMW and their service sucks so bad that I don't think I'll ever buy another German car no matter what it is.

id reccommend any infiniti based on the service alone, thats how much of a pleasure it was... usually dealing with a dealer sucks and gets you really annoyed... anyway yeah id take a g35 coupe over the nissan z its the same shit, only i can stomach the way the g35 looks and infiniti service > nissan service

MrPheer,

Here in the SF Bay Area BMW service sucks so bad - that that fact along will make me never buy a German car. It's to the point of being insulting.

I think service depends alot on your location, although I have to agree that BMW service sucks. I would be seriously impressed though if you told me you got that great service in NY. But I still rather choose a car on the way it drives, rather than on the way its serviced which is why I like BMW.

Leasing makes more sense in my head, because I want to change cars pretty often, and if you purchase a car and then resell it, you will end up losing the same on depreciation as you would had you leased it. The only real thing to watch out for is your mileage, and that you take care of your car so you don't return it in shit condition.

Cool. i pick mine up at 1PM.

I was going to do the one payment plan but the rate on a new car loan 3.5%. I can pay off my house that is a higher % so I financed it. The lease had lower payments but was a higher interest rate so I bought it.

Ive leased 1 truck (Durango R-T for 50k ) and bought the other ( Jeep Liberty limited 40k)....

Leaseing is something I'll never do a second time, Ive gone WAY over my miles. My leased truck still looks great almost new.

I'll have to buy it out at the end of the lease next year since the new Durnago is fucking insanely ugly. I'll keep my 2000 forever.

The Liberty is defiantely for sale, its seats are the most uncomfortable things you can possibly have in a ride, Ive never had seats this uncomfortable. My wife loves it, I hate em. Too stiff.

It depends on location. I had an Infiniti and now a BMW. Some
places will eat your ass out with a spoon, others won't even
give you free cofee.

The BMW dealerships around here hook you up with free food,
loaners, internet access, and all types of shit.

The G35 is aight. If you're willing to spend a bit more, you can
get a used 2002 7 Series for about $50k with around 10k miles
on it and warranty for up to 50k.

It's a pretty pimp ride, though it eats gas like a mother fucker.

I would talk to your accountant.

I did a lease to own with a prenegotiated buy-out.

I had a corporate rate that gave me .9% financing, and put a large downpayment because I needed the tax break.

I was allowed to also hahahahaha off a percentage of the monthly payment because I use my car for business.

All will depend on what your personal financial situation is.

That is based on the dealership. Not the car manufacturer. Even some hyundai dealerships give you a loaner car for an oil change
