It's not black and white. There is a gray area. I haven't had a boss in many many years. I wear a suit once or twice a year at best. I enjoy myself and have fun also. I just know there is a time and a place for it. Most people in this industry, for who knows what reason, don't realize that.

Have fun, enjoy, just don't take it too far. Pissing in a glass in a resturaunt (or throwing food at people at other tables and across the place as happened at a breakfast I was at) is just pushing the limits.

When I go to Vegas for internext I don't eat in the Venetian any more. The stigma that goes with us as an industry is noticed right when you walk in the door. It's sad. And this is an example of what casues it. If you want to be classless, do your thing. I just think it's pathetic.

I remember in Vegas back in January we were in a lounge sitting by a table with a few people who were clearly webmasters. They were acting all big and bad. Talking shit about this and that. Your typical Pimp Webmaster Ballers. Then their check came (for nothing but some basic drinks) and they spent 5 minutes figuring out who owed what. It's at least entertaining to watch.

I didn't get pissed off. I posted them, and then stated that it was done in a controlled environment. People are entitled to think it's classless.... hell, pornography is classless. Who am I to judge?

Yup, I very nearly got up myself, but I was cornered in the back by others who were too disgusted to do anything other than shake their heads.

However, I see the two situations differently.

One was clearly very very drunk, and just being an outright idiot and involving anyone and everyone he could.

In this case, this was contained to a minimal area, no one else was involved, and was done with the permission of the owner of the establishment before hand.

Both lacked class, but one was handled professionally despite that.


By the way, I never did get to thank you for that breakfast in Vegas. Up until the "incidents", it was a pleasure. :glugglug

I find it hard to believe the owner of the restraunt had no problems with any of this behavior. Restraunts are built on a few things and one of the most important things are word of mouth/reputation..

You can see people in the background looking on and wondering what the fuck is going on.

I also posted that PunkerBarbie was being attacked by boobies. I embellished a bit.

They loved us to be honest, they really enjoyed having us there... and that waiter not only got boobies for a reward, he got a HUGE tip.

Even the girls at the door really enjoyed having us there... the one girl had a really quick wit and was fast with the come backs. (I really like that in a woman)

Anyway, there's no point in trying to justify it to you.... it was just a story. If you were there, perhaps you would have had some fun and enjoyed yourself as we all did. Life's too short to be a prude.

This dinner was a spur of the moment thing for Stuart and me. I remember asking him, "Hey, you think I should run to my room and put on something nicer before we go?" Then we both figured "Naaahhh..."

But who cares, it was a great time!
