Less competition for what?

Not many gallery designers went there looking to score big.

I agree wholeheartedly with Dusen, and Spotter.

I thought the badge swapping was funny as hell.

With these smaller shows for the most part people all ready know each other so it's just a way to have some extra fun.

People get too hung up on the fact that "business has to be done" and forget that you can do business and enjoy yourself at the same time.


Overal this was one of the best shows I attended :thumbsup

And for your information there were a handful of gallery designers there...but once again keep thinking that way it just leaves those doors opening up a little less crowded as we go through them.

I've met alot of the so called "competition". Believe me, the doors need to be enlarged or they need to change their focus in life, because they'll end up dropping dead of obsesity way before I'm concerned with competition.

I love all the responses from people who weren't there.

We all gave up our name tags willingly and had a blast doing it. Some didn't because they didn't want to... if you don't want to give up your name tag, then don't.

And if you weren't there, kindly take your comments and stick'em cause they have no value for the rest of us.

i traded some that didn't want to - when they asked for their badge back it was usually gone 2-3 trades ago - happens as fast as it takes me to turn around. hehe

I not saying that the badge trading makes you someone I hate. Infact, alot of people that I know, and have great working relationships with, were involved in the badge trade.

Im just saying that I wouldnt run a business that way.

For the most part, i find conventions are 99% things I allready know, and info I allready have.

I do come to the conventions to party.

I wouldnt want someone, who is representing my company, to have been involved.

I didn't actually pick up my badge because I managed to find myself elsewhere whenever it was available, so I wasn't involved.

In my opinion (and I really don't claim to know anything... but always have an opinion) the badge swapping added a very positive flavour to the entire event. Most people were in on the game, and those who weren't only had to mess up once to figure it out. It was FUN to play along!
