What's with this "less competition" "less crowded" argument? Scared of someone taking your juice?

I've met alot of the so called "competition". Believe me, the doors need to be enlarged or they need to change their focus in life, because they'll end up dropping dead of obsesity way before I'm concerned with competition.

*yawn*

DrewKole 04-05-2004 12:33 PM

Actually, my obsesity remark doesn't quite work... because it'd be hypocritical.

While you guys were just trying to have fun, and think about something other than business.... The same goes for my remark concerning obsesity and doing something besides business.

I still think its way like highschool, but caught myself in a hypocritical remark moment, thought I'd own up to it.

I believe it is because a large amount of people attending have few real friends in real life and take these conferences as a chance to interact with real people, which they rarely get to do otherwise.

This is exactly why I find conferences to be a large waste of money. Just because we peddle smut does not mean that we need to act like a bunch of overgrown irresponsible kids.

And most people that I have encountered do. There are, of course, exceptions to this and I am proud to deal with them.

I am aware this is simply a bait reply but I felt my original feelings needed further expression.

idiot

god i LOVE fucking with people like you, keep your little dream world up

I love you man.

Next time you're around here, drinks on me.

StuartD 04-05-2004 12:52 PM

I love all the responses from people who weren't there.

We all gave up our name tags willingly and had a blast doing it. Some didn't because they didn't want to... if you don't want to give up your name tag, then don't.

And if you weren't there, kindly take your comments and stick'em cause they have no value for the rest of us.

i traded some that didn't want to - when they asked for their badge back it was usually gone 2-3 trades ago - happens as fast as it takes me to turn around. hehe

Good show guys, cant wait for the next one.

I have it in a dirty place

supermack 04-05-2004 01:56 PM

I not saying that the badge trading makes you someone I hate. Infact, alot of people that I know, and have great working relationships with, were involved in the badge trade.

Im just saying that I wouldnt run a business that way.

That strkes me as being totally unprofessional.

No big deal. In fact, trade away.....

Dont be suprised when someone starts to blame you for something you didnt do.

Or, when rumors start to fly when people say they saw you doing something fucked up.

For the most part, i find conventions are 99% things I allready know, and info I allready have.

I do come to the conventions to party.

I wouldnt want someone, who is representing my company, to have been involved.

No big deal, just my 2 cents. :)

Aly-Python 04-05-2004 03:01 PM

I didn't actually pick up my badge because I managed to find myself elsewhere whenever it was available, so I wasn't involved.

In my opinion (and I really don't claim to know anything... but always have an opinion) the badge swapping added a very positive flavour to the entire event. Most people were in on the game, and those who weren't only had to mess up once to figure it out. It was FUN to play along!

THANK YOU (again) Sleazy for livening things up a bit! :thumbsup

Hell I get blamed for everything anyway, maybe this will help me out a bit.

I was so drunk the first night I couldn't see straight. Ron Cadwell introduced himself to me as Aaron Matthews and this was my reply... honest to GOD...

"That name sounds familiar."

And I was being SERIOUS. It only sounded FAMILIAR! And to make it EVEN FUNNIER: Aaron was RIGHT BESIDE HIM!

WAY too much alcohol. First of all: not recognizing Ron Cadwell and then... well you get the picture.

Damn!
