1. A copy of a government issued photo identification listing your name

2. A copy of the credit/debit card statement that shows at least the last 4-digits of the card, your name and your street address that matches the address registered in your PayPal account

3. A copy of the front and back of the credit card

Would you send all of that to paypal? A bit much if you ask me...

What's 'Expanded Use' give you that the regular business accounts don't?

If you are just paying money via Paypal it's a bit much.

If on the other hand you are using them to take money I feel it's fine. It's to cut down on fraud, isn't that good for all of us?

It's part of the Patriot Act or whatever. You have to do that for any sort of financial account now.

I have to wonder when these clowns at the DOJ will wake up and realize that all these extra hoops they are forcing on people will just make them stop using banks, and start using alternative forms to send and recieve funds that are harder to track. (Many by design)

You'd be cautious to if you handled billions of dollars of people's money.

Can't blame them when you think about all the fraud that goes on on the Net these days.

I've used paypal for many years and never had to send them anything, I suggest you give them a call and talk to paypal rep before you do anything.

Basically they don't believe who you are and if you have any money in the account you can waive goodbye to it.

I got the same email and after sending all the info, you get another message asking for you to send the pic again blown up to 150%. Then you hear nothing, and your money is gone.

Paypal are a huge scam organisation that will get you in the end. Took me for $1500 and I did nothing wrong. Bunch of theives.
