I didn't want to beat him down cause I didn't want to start shit. Imagine cops coming and blowing the story out of proportions, asking around gym admins and other people, getting gossip going around etc. It's much easier just to walk away.

But if he really tried to assault me (continue grabbing me etc) I'd knock him the fuck out.

Yep, it was that way for me as well. I was extremely pissed off, but I managed to cotrol myself, didn't want things to escalate into something messy. I did tell the owners though.
