    Went to London (UK) today

I went to London to do a shoot.

It seems to be now on Red Alert. Police all over the place, warnings in the underground saying "we will shut down the underground if we find suspect bagage".

    It feels very tense.

Glad I do not live there.

fact: those posters have always been there in one form or another. London has never been unware of the possibility of terrorist attacks.

      It's always been like that

It's looser now than at the height of the IRA, those days had rolling road blocks and the 'ring of steel'

Its chaotic in epidemic proportions worldwide. This is what happens when world powers choose sides, and dont mind there own business.

        Bush is the worst offender.
PS. I am American, and a veteran, and highly dissappointed in the actions of our president.

Londoners are aware but not frightened...does that make sense? There is not a sense of panic in London. Inevitability maybe.

London has been getting bomb attacks and threats for 30 years so it's pretty much business as usual. During the early 80's a hamburger bar in Oxford Street, just around the corner from my office was blown up: within a few hours the place was boarded up and people were strolling past as if nothing had happened.

Yep it makes sense Sarah, londeners have lived in the shadow of bomd threats from PIRA for the last god knows how many years!!
Their used to living under such threats!!

Hopefully the anti-terrorist squadrons in 22 and 23 SAS are unleashed to deal with these fucking terrorists!

I lived in Canary Wharf for 3 years, the security around there is probably higher than anywhere in the country. Road blocks were usually up and unless you had a reason to be there you couldn't drive anywhere near the tower itself. I'd have no hesitation in moving back there though, it was a great place to live.

As some said above, we've lived with the threat of terrorism long before Osamas little buddies came on the scene.

the first time I ever heard from my husband on the phone was the day of the canary warf bombing. Now, I see canary warf from my balcony. I guess I know I am a londoner now. On the weekend I only briefly took note of how weird it was that my friends and I were climbing over security barriers outside of St. Pauls in order to hail a midnight cab.
