There is an argument that says if there is another outlet for these fantasies, ie: simulated pictures, then these people will have less desire to go out and commit the acts themselves in a less safe manner than that in which the pictures were created. It is human sympathy (that sometimes lies on a subconcious level) that makes us feel indignant towards the exploitation of certain matters.

Some people have the fantasies of brutally killing and then raping the lifeless body of another. If you 'recreate' this scenario for someone to experience, does that make it acceptable since it is only fake?

The scenes are clearly faked and thus only disgust me because of what they say about some of the males of our species. Otherwise I can't even get energized because they show the degradation of the girl involved: the vast majority of porn does that. Our customers may kid themselves they only want to look at pictures of naked women, but their choice of material makes it clear that servility and degradation are vital ingredients for many, even for the majority.

I recognize that within the arenas of all kinds of extreme tastes lurk people who one day will step outside fantasy. If I could be convinced that they would be stopped if the material which appeals to them were banned, I would say to hell with some of our freedoms.
