What about this? An elderly couple, both patients in the hospital I worked at, back in the mid-80's..... both on different wards of different floors.... both passed away at precisely the same time. Now get this..... staff on both wards reported that they heard both the husband and the wife talking to each other just prior to dying. My then-girlfriend was a nurse working on the ward that the wife was a patient on. It is all documented.
I have dozens of interesting examples of such "spiritual" happenings. Only a close-minded idiot would dismiss them and ignore what is happening all around him. |
Opiate of the masses.

Back from the party. I had a good time, but I'm an old man (30 years old) and am ready to be back in my room. AaronM, Rochard, and some guy from the Phoenix Suns (Sean something) are still partying. I am ready to sleep.
Ya'll should be here. It's great! Raven from sin-text: I'm glad we all got to eat and share a cab together! |
Reading through posts made since I've been gone..... I am WAY too drunk to deal with you mo' fo's that think spirits exist.
Shit. BTW: my dad was a pastor. I've done plenty of research. |

Anyone who works in a hospital has stories. |
There are ghosts in my house. The world is flat.
Both of these things seemed true until science proved otherwise. Same thing for "spiritual" occurences. |

Its so fucking simple, your mind, you soul, your spirit, your ghost whatever you want to call it needs a friggin body to exist. It isnt a standalone thing. It needs cells, it needs a brain. When you die "it" does as well. Where were you before you were born? Nowhere and thats exactly where you are going when you die, nowhere. People want to believe otherwise because it comforts them, they will be with their loved ones again blah blah. The fact is if you wouldve turned this around, if it was known that when you die everybody would be a slave for the devil and will suffer pain till eternity nobody would believe in life after death. |
I believe soul exists and is not part of the mind. It stays alive when the body dies. I should become a buddhist :)

I'd rather take advice by someone similar to me that knows me and I trust than a priest that I cannot relate to.
The best spiritual advice I ever got from my "Spiritual advisor" was: 1. Make your bed 2. Wash your windows 3. keep your own side of the street clean 4. atraction rather than promotion 5. lead by example 6. Zero expectations & you'll never be let down 7. You reap what you sow 8. Pray for those who you believe have hurt you 9. Trust God, clean house, be of service. 10. Dance like no-one's watching 11. Work like you don't need the money 12. Love like you never been hurt. That will do way more than 5 hail Mary's to a guy who eventually wants to fuck little boys because the church says all sex (a vital survival tool) is bad for desperate celibate men trying to be as pure as snow. Why would anyone take relationship advice from anyone not in a relationship? I cannot relate to anyone who hasn?t gone through similar situations than me. Religion is for people who are afraid to go to hell, and spirituality is for those who have already been there. |
Sorry, just had to.

LOL. Nice find.
