By the time I started taking pics two had been apprehended, and the third had barricaded himself in a house which was soon surrounded by dozens of cops, including SWAT.

Cops made me stop taking pics because I somehow got myself in the line of fire, so the last ones were as close as I could get.

same sort of shit happened in my neighbourhood today also. Some guy got in a fight with his girlfriend, pulled a gun on her, she called the cops, he took off on foot wandering the neighborhood with a gun, took a hostage, managed to get about 20 miles away, then shot himself when cornered. Helicopters took him away as far as I know he lived. I wasnt home at the time, my wife was relaying the news to me about it over the phone bit by bit. I was scared shitless for a while, she was home alone, but we have a gun in the house and she knows how to use it, told her to lock all the doors and windows and dont go to or answer the door for anybody but me. We live in a damn quite place back in the woods, pretty rare for some shit like that to go down on our street.

Is he still in the house? Seems to me that if you commit armed robbery in the US, you get like 100 years without parole... If you're going to get caught no matter what, whats the point? Go out guns blazing

yeah, that was a little added bonus. As I was walking back to my car I was talking to a cop to get the low down, and I spotted her, so I shot the distant pic while talking to him.

When I left him she asked me if I got all my pictures. I said "everything but you."

"oh, you don't want me."

"Oh yes I do, I will make you famous."

I may have to go cruise that street again after the cops leave.

we have ambulances too. Paramedics are trained more than EMT's and are part of the fire department. They are like a mobile hospital, and can do things to help you that an EMT is not trained to do.

THey get you stable, then turn you over to an ambulance to transport you to the hospital if required
