-   -   BREAKING NEWS: 61 MissGFY contestants to be Disqualified (https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=261808)

kowntafit 03-31-2004 05:20 AM

There should be a minimum criteria that must be met. I dont think giving points for whoring is really the idea though. But it should definately be an active member.

Nicky 03-31-2004 05:21 AM

well as it is the "Miss GFY" she should ofcourse be a little bit active on the board.......

Edguy! 03-31-2004 05:22 AM

I agree with the popular view that she should at least be a current poster on GFY...

TheEnforcer 03-31-2004 09:01 AM

Yup.. I agree tthat they should at least have the common courtesy to drop in and say heelo and introduce themselves and post once in a while.

High Quality 03-31-2004 09:01 AM

Weak dude, totally weak.

The contest is "Miss GFY". I think the contestants should be active posters, not models trying to get some free stuff.

I am not sure if I ever agreed with you before, but I do this time.

I am not donating anything to the prize list because I thought this was supposed to be for chicks that were members here, not a bunch of newbies that joined for this contest.

You 2 hit the nail on the head!:thumbsup

Those two posts sum up my thoughts exactly!! I'm only a regular webmistress, not a model, my digi cam pics can't compete with professional shots. Plus I'm not comfortable showing flesh as I have to do business with people that would see the pics. If I did enter, I can just imagine it now speaking to someone on icq and they're thinking "haha I've seen her tits!" Very professional...

I'm sure there are a few others who feel that way too and are just too scared to admit it incase they get called jealous of the others or whatever. If there was clear-cut rules as to what the pics are to be like, a line you shouldn't cross when it comes to skin baring, so that everyone is equal, and maybe a rule all the pics should be amateur shot, again so everyone is equal. Right now everything is just a bit vague....

C-Bass 03-31-2004 09:36 AM

when do we see boobies?

Basic_man 03-31-2004 09:36 AM

Okay nice :D

totally fuckin agree

myjah 03-31-2004 09:39 AM

everyone has to play by the rules...and the rules state clearly how to sign up for the contest

CDSmith 03-31-2004 09:50 AM

Just let the Lens man run his contest, quit the bitching and shaddaaap already.

It hasn't even begun yet and people are bitching. This is supposed to be a joyous occasion. Festive. Full of glee and merriment.

Let us rejoice.

Gotta agree with everyone else on this matter.

Im not a model. Im not posting pictures of shoots i've been in. I have been on the board for a while, and have *I hope* a decent number of posts to be considered an official Board whore ;)

But, we shall see. I wonder what kind of "trials" are going to happen throughout the contest, beside looks :D

I was a bit intimidated going up against some of the models, especially since I won't do nudes, but I entered for the spirit of competition. I don't seriously expect to win. :)

I'm actually rather proud to be in any sort of competition with such fine ladies. :winkwink:

A bit insulting to those of us who have put quality and large amount of posts into the place.

Oh, please someone please flame me for stating my opinion and tell me something like I am jealous of someone or some other stupid high school remark.

I have to agree. Everyone's registration date is public. It surprises me how many members registered and entered AFTER the announcement of this contest. Makes me wonder..... :Oh crap

Good for you! Don't worry. I'm sure lots of us ladies won't be submitting nudes. :)

Absolutely

Wicked Temptress 03-31-2004 04:40 PM

Well, I'm not a model either. Just a webmistress submitting her crappy digital camera pictures.

I'm also not a new member to the board. True, I haven't posted very much at all considering the length of time that I have been here, but it's only because there is so much to read. It's kind of like one of those books you start reading that you just can't put down. By the time I realize that I've spent a few hours reading the board, I have to kick my ass to start getting some work done.

However, getting back to the topic at hand, while I do agree that I don't think it's right for people that have never been to or signed-up for the board before the contest to participate, and I can understand how some women would be concerned with going up against porn stars or people with pictures that are professionally taken, there's also a part of me that says "bring it on." I'm here to have fun and that's exactly what I'm going to do regardless of who enters.

Tootie, a big :thumbsup to you for entering the contest. :winkwink:

Ic3m4nZ 03-31-2004 04:48 PM

Yes it's really funny some of them made like 20 posts in 2-3 years.

i agree with you on that one

Brujah 03-31-2004 05:17 PM

To be fair, the rules didn't say they had to be an existing member. They did say that they must register and post in one of the entry threads. I don't think half of the girls listed at MissGFY have done this yet. There were 101 of them entered just the other day.

XxXotic 03-31-2004 05:25 PM

i just checked out the missgfy page, i didnt recognize like 2/3rds of the people on there, I agree they should be active members of the board, otherwise we might as well just give everything to that whore who begged for boobs whatever the fuck her name is/was

I agree with you! Can't think of much else to add. Much like Tootie, I don't seriously expect to win, but it seems like a fun competition so why not?! GFY has always been a fun place to be!

Yep...I know of a few that were, and that's a shame. It should really as originally stated...not another beauty contest.....But I'm hoping that the tasks will weed out the content girls , but even then, I'd be there are some webmasters that entered and can comply with providing all that is asked, while hiding behind some content pics.

But........ We're STILL Gonna Have tons of FUN regardless !!!!

That pretty much sums up how I feel... I do 100 times more reading than posting here, and I've learned a thing or two while reading between a lot of the nonsense ;-).

I'm also quite a bit more extreme than your average garden variety woman, so I'm sure that I'll get my share of harassment, but I'm here to have fun!

that doesn't bother me at all . . . they have been members longer than you. It is the ones that signed up in the last week just so they can collect all the goods that I have a problem with

Wicked Temptress 04-01-2004 12:09 AM

Glad to see you ladies agree :Graucho

Rictor 04-01-2004 12:11 AM

Yah, I'd say we'll lose about half the contestants.

Trixie Racer 04-01-2004 12:25 AM

Who cares if we lose contestants -- all the better for those of us who are left! :winkwink:

Really, MissGFY should only be an option for those ladies who registered and posted before before the contest was announced.

100% AGREE :thumbsup

if that rule is not obeyed the whole "miss GFY" does not mean jack to the contestants and the winners

I agree....also it shouldnt be someone who used to post and just came BACK to GFY strictly for the contest, thats just like someone new showing up for it.

thatjen 04-01-2004 01:19 AM

I haven't been an active poster because I am afraid of you guys, but I secretly read the board a lot:) I figured the contest would force me to get involved!

Okay so I am already off to a bad start - how the heck do I change the statement that says "I am probably spamming."

http://www.jensex.com/jensfinger.jpg

thatjen 04-01-2004 01:22 AM

Now that I've started posting I can't stop! Okay my spamming label has vanished. woohooo. Do I have to make a certain amount of posts before I can change my little message to say something of my choosing?
