Small Business Loans And The Adult Industry

Do you think it would be wrong for our gov...to give out small biz loans to adult sites?

Would their refusal be seen as a violation of your right to free speech if you met all other qualifications and there would be no sense in denying the loan?

This is in refrence to getting a loan through the SBA.

loaning money to 90% of the people involved in the adult industry would not be a smart business move

You can get a loan easily if you have good credit. I personally had no problems establishing my credit lines.

I didn't mention my business had anything to do with adult though.

Well there is of course qualifications that must be met such as credit checks, need for business plan, collateral etc.

But if an adult webmaster were to meet their requirements and would qualify for the loan if it were for say a plumbing company, then why should he/she be turned down just because the biz is adult related?

I'm speaking in terms of a loan from the Small Business Adminstration which is a government agency.

I would suggest to be as generic as possible with your business plans. That's how I did it.

Also some companies giving out credit don't need a business plan. I got a 45k unsecured line of credit for my business from American Express based on my personal credit score alone.

I'm speaking about only dealing with the SBA a government agency.

I think it would be wrong for them not to.

Well I'm not sure what to do in the case of the SBA, but I think you still need reasonable credit. I also would suggest you keep your business plan generic but realistic.

For example if you want to launch a pay per signup program....focus on the affiliate program and don't mention your paysites. Come off as a "broker" instead.
