And lives continue to be sacrificed.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A roadside bomb in Iraq killed five U.S. military personnel Wednesday morning, according to the Coalition Press Information Center.

Military sources said the attack happened outside Fallujah, west of Baghdad.

Reports said the bomb went off as a military vehicle drove over it.

As of Wednesday, 600 U.S. troops have died in the war in Iraq, 408 of them in hostile action.

I wonder how this will impact the eventual hand off of power to Iraqi authorities.

Your not gonna like this...

But 600 people is a very small ammount to lose in well over 2 years of war...

Actually many people who have seen war would say 600 people lost doesnt even constitute a war.

All i can say is im greatful that only that many had to give there lives for whatever reason the US saw for this campaign.

Wonder how many Iraqi soldiers payed with their life...and dont tell me they deserved it...i would bet more then half of them DIDNT want to fight for Sudam..but..hey..when your jury executes you befor trying you...well anyways i best not get started on this...i can allready here 1000 rednecks and newfies explaining why it was the right move.

Maybe another way to assess the impact would be the economic dimensions of the war on the US economy and the dollar's exchange rate.

You can definately say the War has had an impact on almost every aspect of life worldwide.

The huge deficits are the main factors that caused the dollar to plunge like it did, and obviously the unwillingness of the US goverment to really intervene didn't help.

Won't hurt it a bit, it will take something of an enormous magnitude to make any changes with the date.

Sadly enough, any other year besides an election year we'd be there shoring things up and locking things down. I've put all my projects there on the back burner and gone into wait and see mode.

The way things are going now, I really expect an all out civil war to kick in and it will be as messy as Rwanda and Kosvo.

Why would they?
Low dollar = more export
Low dollar = more US=hating European tourists visiting the US
Low dollar = pissed of Chirac (Priceless)
