investors: appraisal wanted re: camchicks.com

I have been thinking about my future. I am planning on getting married soon.
I may not even continue to live in the USA. (political people go fight in another thread)

All this has me wondering what I will do with my website(s).

For the last three years thousands of people have been returning to my site to spy in on my life.
For 2 of those 3 years, I have lived with other female roommates under the same arrangement.
Our cameras have been always-on, always-live, 24/7/365. We have provided a free guest cam,
and then surfers subscribe if they want a faster refresh or access to cams in other rooms.
We have developed a friendly community, and process a couple hundred transactions a month.

additionally, we own:

camchicks.net - currently a small camgirl directory that attracts some search engine results.
camchicks.tv - hosted gallerys, we have often bought traffic to here, so it got some bookmarks.


also: I registered some names back when I intended to play around with SEO.
Most of these probably aren't very "brandable", but they would be spider-friendly.

To be clear, this post is not an eBay auction; just an invitation for discussion.
I think I will make more with it over the next couple of years than I'm likely to be offered,

our house and all our equipment are owned free-and-clear and could be included in a deal.

camchickS is plural and has always been presented as a multi-girl site.
When our roommates come and go, members adjust pretty easily.
I don't have a big enough ego to think the site couldn't survive without me.

We usually have 150-200 scheduled to be rebilled, but there's more to it than that.
While some memberships are still actve after joining 3 years ago,
some subscribe, cancel, then come back and sign up again later.
Guys (and girls) who like to watch LifeCams are a loyal bunch.
Features like our message board and chatroom keep relationships ongoing.
There are also many more people who just come by to watch the free cam.
(TGP owners seem to think these sort of people have value )

perhaps you should have posted some figures in your first post so that people could do more than make guesses. whats your monthly income for the last 3 months?

varies wildly. 10K+ total since Dec... :shrug: enough to live on.
but that's a bit irrelevant because we've always just been a "real-life"
camsite (without much promotion). I assume anyone interested
here would turn it into a hardcore site, know how to get traffic,
and probably be more profitable. But I have no interest in "porn".

It's a good domain with lots of established links/bookmarks
and a loyal membership with whom we have a good reputation.


I really don't think I'd sell-out; too much emotional attachment...
my members area is a scrapbook of my life.
But I am getting a bit sick of living with roommates and stuff.
I'm starting to wish I was somewhere quiet, somewhere remote.
If someone offered me enough to bridge into that, I'd consider.
I may go anyway, but some liquidity would cushion the transition.
That's my main problem.. I can't borrow against this house
because it is protected in an irrevocable trust.
And I wouldn't want to sell eveything I own here until I've secured a new life.

damn.. to be honest that sounds really cool, the site pretty much pays for the house (but you said its paid off).. so the site pays for the house property tax.. just gotta have some hottie tenants to live there.

how old were you when you started it?.. and wasnt it kinda weird using the bathroom knowing people were watching?

that seems to be the part i would think would be hardest to adjust to.

Honestly, I'm just trying to find out what my options are.

Probably the most profitable thing to do would be to keep on doing what I'm doing, or perhaps I could 'take it to the next level' with an investor who has the $$ and know-how to properly promote an adult site, and/or turn it into a hardcore/private-show/porn product. If they wanted to do that, move their own girls in here or whatever, I could be involved during the transition. But 'most profitable' isn't as important to me as quality of life. I dont want any "blingbling". If I could cash-out and go live comfortably in a little cottage somewhere, just forget about the internet for a while, that would be nice. I don't have enough to retire on, now matter how cheaply I live, but I have other skills I can fall back on; before I was a camgirl I was an award-winning chef working at a 5 star resort.

Now seriously, I see it hard without you, and at the same time you're selling not to be involved, which makes it kinda complicated. I'd say something around 10-15k, but maybe you'd make some kind of deal where you don't live in the house but still keep involved with the development of the site. Just an idea.
