godaddy.com

Is GoDaddy domain name registrar reputable and reliable? Please comment. Am thinking of switching to them for their low price.

I though that they were and then on a few adult webmasters boards I found out they did some nasty shit. And decided to use my old registrat instead. Just use the search function for GODADDY here http://www.gofuckyourself.com/search...der=descending

GoDaddy is the absolute worst registrar for the novist domainer. If you're a newbie - Go with them. If you want any kind of control over your domains, avoid them at all costs.

For your main domains ( very important, paysites, revenue sharing, ssl) use directnic.

For less important domains( small tgp, galleries, feeders, etc...) godaddy is fine.

What control don't you get with Godaddy that you get with any other registrar?

I have over 30 domains with godaddy now, and did not have any problems so far. But I know a lot of ppl who had problems with godaddy. Usually because of spam abuses... If you use mailer traffic or offer free hosting services, better avoid them...

Ok just to straighten this whole godaddy thing out for those who do not know..

They have the absolute WORST inbred camel raping support staff ever collected on the face of this earth...

Yes im sure there are plenty of people who have never had a problem with them.. And im sure they appreciate the good words. It's when you have your first problem you will remember this thread and the warnings you got..

Here's the deal about domain registrars. If your registrar values you as the $2 they made off you then you aint worth a hell of alot..

But anyone who makes decent money knows a domain problem can run into the thousand of dollars of lost money per day..

It's not worth it.. Alot of people learn the hard way.. they have no problems when they start out , once you start pulling in the cash , the downtime is CRUCIAL !!!

I know a few people who have had godaddy forget to renew the domains after godaddy support promised them they wouldn't be let go, godaddy dropped the ball and allowed several 10 year old domains to be sold out from under the owners.

Godaddy's support staff told the one guy in so many words.. " sorry we fucked up here's your 10 bucks/per domain back.. "

The other guy is currently suing them..

Despite what people say, they are quite good UNLESS you a spammer in which case, they actually enforce TOS....

So if you are not a spammer/scammer , go right ahead.

The spammers hate GoDaddy which should be considered and endorsement.

not true several people i personally know that have had problems ran mainstream sites with very little traffic. The problems had nothing to do with spam or anything remotley similar. It had to do with poorly trained support staff with very little understanding of how the internet works let alone the domain registration process

How the fuck would you know godaddy's track record any more than what you personally have observed..

For anyone who said " gee i have never had any problems " your opinion is worthless.

A real comment would be.. " we ran into some problems and godaddy fixed them very fast and support staff was well trained "

If you have never had any problems then you dont really have anything to compare..

The problems start when you get your first problem
