Do we need more dot names?

Do we need more dot names?

I am not sure the technical name, but I mean, the ends such as .com, .net, .co.uk.

Would it not be better, that if you do not use a name you have, after 6 months, it becomes available to buy, rather than have lots of decent .com names being bought by people who just want to keep them to sell at a later day for a much higher price.

If they bring out more names such as .xxx or whatever, these will just be bought by people who want to store names to sell later.
