may be true, but we are fucked. People care to much about right now, rather than the future.

Have you even read the fucking thing?

<i>"The scientists support this project, but caution that the scenario depicted is extreme in two fundamental ways. First, they suggest the ocurrences we outline would most likely happen in a few reegions, rather than globally. Secondly, They say the magnitude of the event may be considerably smaller."</i>

What does this mean? When they say the support the project, it means they support the research into the idea of abrubt climate change. Even the scientists that do support the project acknowledge that the actual even would be considerably smaller.

Talking about cities being drowned by the ocean by the year 2007. Fucking hogwash. If this shit meant anything at all, don't you think the people in those cities mentioned would be doing something about it right now? Hell yes. But they're not, because the report is a bunch of exagerated nonsense.

c.) cannot fit the manufacturing, production, and industrial uses that oil currently does (pretty much everything else)
and
d.) Could never be adapted to provide energy on the global scale that oil does to maintain current population (solar, wind)

If a suitable alternate energy source is NOT found, and soon - then we are fucked. And by the time the majority of the population realizes the problem, it will be too late.
Who says oil is not a renewable resource?

50 Years? I thought it was 10 Years?

Are you sure it isn't 12 years and 3 months?

Or maybe 51 Years and 6 months?

I believe people have been predicting this for a thousand years or so? I know they were in 1000, and they were in 2000, so now it's April 2014 huh?

Right......

Enviro Engineeringclasses taught me

1) oil is past saving and will be gone by 2025, we knew this and just decided corn oil is to clean and cheap to run cars off

2) glass is unlimited and worthless to recycle, the cost of recycling glass, and more so plastic, make the a waste of $$ to do

3) plastic is toxic, you should never use it

4) we will all die anyway

5) and this is the shit I recall on medication so am i crazy?

nice read.

i dont really beleive (or atleast care) about this nonsense usually but it is obvious something is going on.

havent you seen that the seasons are slowly reversing themselves?

havent you seen it snowing in april?

I also notice the sky isnt nearly as blue as it was when i was a kid, and the nights arent nearly as clear because i can rarely see the magificent stars i used to see when i was a child

something is going on for sure i think.

I dont think we have much of a choice in the matter at this point, and i also dont think we will see any of the serious damage in our time, but its defenitely begun.

We really need to stop cutting the forests and stop 3rd world countries from using slash and burn agriculture.

Plastic is the worst thing ever invented.

We need an alternative to gas and oil quick.

*sigh*

Enviromental responsibility is everyone's business but the world will not be ending soon much to the dissapointment of the alarmists.

It's pretty easy to say that we are all doomed since very few of the most adament tree huggers will not be here in 100 years and what happens when they are wrong? Nothing.
