Actually if they say no when you ask them, that only prevents them from a) testifying against you and b) arresting you. The cops on the other side of the microphone/camera can still legally arrest you.

Uh, wrong, and wrong.

Entrapment is compelling a person to commit an act or crime which they would not have commited unless you compelled them to do so.

And if you ask a cop if they are a cop (assumung it is an undercover type case and they are not in a uniform) they can lie their ass off and tell you whatever they want. Supreme Court ruled on this a very long time ago.
